Hey guys, Im a case of 2011-2012 and I had a query so if any of you could help out that would be great. My husband is my sponsor and he submitted my file in March 2011 , no documents arrived until april 2012,which contained BOTH my re-medical letter and passport submission letter(in that it highlighted i submit the passport after my medical)

so I submitted it by the end of April and I even know they received it for sure since they mentioned it in their mail (that mail was only because of another query that id mailed them)

its been nearly 3 months and my passport hasnt returned. Should i be worried?

From what I have heard it takes about 2-3 months after you submit your passport (at least in Jamaica) for you to get it back. Keep checking your mail, the speed of your mailing service is also a determining factor.

Hey asj1989, it also depends on which VO you are going through. Some VO ( new Delhi for sure, others as well) request the passport right away, and then they start the process ( can take up to 7 months in ND). Some other VO request it at the end of the process, when they are ready to issue the visa (Mexico for example). So - which VO are you going through?

Good luck,
Sweden

Yes its New Delhi. Oh no,so 7 more months? but why would they take that long when it states in the letter that "your visa(s) are ready for issuance" =S But thankyou for helping out.

I'm not sure why! :-) but it might not be 7 months, that's more an average...you might be done faster than that... but from following the different threads, I can see that ND asks for the passport right away, but it doesn't really mean that the visa is ready ( even if the wording they use might be confusing). But maybe the ND thread can tell you more about it? they have a spreadsheet as well.
