Hi, First thing I want to say thanks to all people here on this website as I got a lot of benefit from here during my application journey.

I am a medical student and I have applied for TRV to do training in a hospital in Canada.

I applied on June 8 and today I received a message says that my application was approved :) and request me to send my passport before 30 days from the letter date.

The problem is that my passport will expire after around five and a half months.

So do you suggest me to renew my passport now (before I submit) and submit the new one?
is this will give me a longer visa validity as my new passport will have a longer expiry date.

or better to send my recent passport now and later on, i renew it after I got the visa?

i am afraid that they may have doubt if i renewed my passport because it will be different than the one that in the application form and in the biometric.

thank you very much.

If you can renew your passport before the 30 days expiration then do it before submitting for visa stamping. Meanwhile I hope you had declared that you will be doing training in Canada when you had applied for a TRV.

yeah I can do it in around 7 days (inshaallah)

ofcourse I declared and I attached an invitaion letter from the hospital there.

but what about the visa expiry date? Will it depend upon my new passport? and also is there any problem if I submit a passport different than that in the application form?

Yes if you submit your current passport, IRCC will only issue visa for 5 months. If you can obtain a new passport in less than 30 days then i suggest you do that first.

thanks very much for your answer.

should I inform the IRCC that I will renew my passport before?
