How long does it take to take to get a B# after you mailed the application?

If I do get the B#, does it mean I will get the PR Card?

almost 30-45 days (depends where you file your application) and it doesn't necessarily mean once you get your B#, you'll get PR promptly, it is long way to go..

does the visa office issue a new AOR and file number when you submit the documents or do they used the B# that the CIU gave with the sydney AOR?

visa office initially issue immigration file # which is B# when you submit your application.

What happens after B#?

YOu get B# from visa office even if the application gets rejected. It is just a file number in the visa office.
You get B# from CIU for initial application. Another B# when full set sent to local visa office.
Next step depends on individual cases. But in general
Interview call, medical test, passport request, additional documents request, PR Stamping, Landing.

Lot of applications are done without an interview also.

Which additional docs?
