Question regarding old passport

Hello,

I am still awaiting AOR for my OINP application.
I just read on the forum that OINP applications without old passport copies are considered incomplete.
I had lost my passport and was issued a new one. Would it be an issue in that case too?
Although it does say on the passport, old passport reported missing..

If it has been lost, you will not be able to do much, unless you have a copy of your old passport bio pages. In your case, it may not be a problem since it has been mentioned on your current passport that the old passport is reported missing. Did you submit an LOE for the same as part of your application package?

No I didn't even think of sending a LOE for that. Do you think it could be a big issue?

In my opinion, it should not be a problem since it has been mentioned on your current passport that the old passport is reported missing.

However, if I was faced with a similar situation, I would send OINP details of duplicate copy of ECA report and use this email as a guise to mention about my old passport as well, this way I will try to salvage the situation. If you have already sent that email, you can still try sending it to them again. They will acknowledge your email may be after their standard 10-15 days.

I already had sent the duplicate only of WES report along with the application...

I just went through OINP application guide yet again. It says the following -

Please provide a copy of your entire passport:

The passport copy must include clear copies of each page including all blank pages, Temporary Resident Visas, entry stamps, and/or any other immigration stamps. You must also include copies of Work Permits, Study Permits, and/or any other Canadian immigration documents;

Your passport must have been valid for at least two years prior to submission of your nominee application. If your passport has not been valid for at least two years (i.e., the previous passport expired less than two years before the submission of the nominee application), then copies of all of the pages of your previous passport must also be included;

Your passport should be valid for at least two more years. If you are unable to renew your passport prior to applying to the program, you must apply with your current passport with an explanation of why your passport could not be renewed at the time of the application.

Based on this my passport has been valid for the last two years and is valid for the next two years.
I don't even have a photo copy of my old passport. I don't even have the passport number. All I have a police report.. that's all..

Oh OK, if your current passport has been valid for the last two years, then you are good to go. I was under the assumption that you got your current passport recently.

So I ordered two reports from WES. One hard copy I got in my post, another was sent straight to OINP.
The hard copy that I got in post is the one that I sent in application.( not a photocopy)
Is that how it was supposed to be done?

You are supposed to include a photocopy of WES ECA report (hard copy) in your OINP application package. You need to keep the original with yourself, exception case is the bank certificate and bank statements - which you can submit in original.

As sushsmart15 mentioned, you need to send only the photocopy of the physical ECA report that you received from WES as part of your application package.

when it is mentioned old passport is missing , it means old passport is cancelled. so dont worry at all. Duplicate passport is not old passport.

As long as you have a copy of it, it is not an issue. In case, if you need a copy in the future, you can request WES for one.

Yes, I have the original one with me. Based on that I ordered the duplicate copy.
I was under the impression duplicate copy is to be ordered just to send them.

Do u mean to say you sent the original with the package? if it is you also need to send them a direct copy from WES. you can request for new ECA with one copy to yourself ( so that u get your original again) and one to OINP. forget the one u sent to them.
