when filling out the forms under client id # i put the number given to me at the boarder every time i was giving a trv
this number does not match the number at the top of my approval letter
is this going to be a problem?

If you mean you wrote your TRV number on the application forms you initially submitted, then no, it should not pose
a problem with the processing. My understanding is when you apply for permanent residence, you haven't been issued
a Client ID# yet, and while I don't know how the TRV numbers issued are set up (how many digits, if any letters precede
the number), but it should not confuse the visa officer if it doesn't have the typical Client ID# 8 digits (****-****).

Just use your Client ID# (from your letter) to check updates on your file on e-cas or contact CIC if you're worried about an issue.
Someone may have a better response.

it is 8 digits, but if its just for checking status than i guess its not an issue

Why dont u use the client id # given to u on the letter u recd??? try that.. n make sure u chack all the box pertaining to u

because you fill out your application before you get your approval letter?

everything is all cleared up, the client id on your approval letter is your sponsors client id, not the applicants the number i used was correct.

Mrs, missing, Mr.
you are issued a client ID when you enter Canada for the first time to my understanding, it is how they keep track of your entry and exit habits.
any forms they give you when you enter the country (i often get trv's cause i come and go a lot and for varying periods of time from a week to 6 months) will usually have it in the top right hand corner
and i was obsessive enough my last visit to write it down before returning my form at the board, had a feeling i would need it.

The client ID on the sponsorship approval is the sponsor's Clients Id not yours. Yours ( on the letter from Buffalo) is a different number.

yes that would be exactly what i just said
but thanks i think
