Quebec Financial Capacity for Sponsoring Spouse

We're about to apply for the spouse sponsoring application and there is one thing we cannot wrap our heads around.

The Quebec governement says that I need to prove financial capacity but the terms are unclear to us. On this page: https://www.quebec.ca/en/immigration/sponsor-family-member/sponsoring-spouse-conjugal-partner/verifying-your-eligibility
It says:
Demonstrating your financial capacity
If your wife or husband, spouse or conjugal partner has a dependent child who also has a dependent child, you must demonstrate that you have enough income to honour your undertaking.
My wife has no child and I would sponsor her alone. Does that even apply to us?

How would I need to prove financial capacity to the Quebec government?

So based on what I quoted above, these:
https://www.quebec.ca/en/immigration/sponsor-family-member/calculating-income
https://www.canadavisa.com/necessary-income-levels-for-family-sponsorship.html

Would ONLY apply if my wife would have kids, right?

Bonus question: I'm a freelancing software engineer. Could that cause any issues? (since I'm not "employed")

Thank you.

Here are other examples of documentation citing that we don't need to prove financial capacity:
https://destinationcanada.com.au/financial-ability/
A Canadian sponsor residing in Quebec must demonstrate a level of income that meets the minimum income for a given family size, as established by the Quebec government in the chart below. The sponsor is free from this requirement if:The individual requiring sponsorship is the spouse, common-law partner, or conjugal partner of the Canadian sponsor; orThe individual requiring sponsorship is the dependent child of a Canadian sponsor.
https://leromlaw.com/family-sponsorship-requirements
A sponsor's minimum income requirement exists only for some categories of Family Class sponsorship.
Thus, a sponsor does not need to meet a minimum income requirement to sponsor:
spouse
common-law
conjugal partner
dependent children (under 22 years old), with some exceptions though.
So I guess we really don't need to have a specific amount of income?
