Is this a must condition for the IELTS takers to have "Private Service" at the place of profession on their passport? Today One of my friends said that I wouldnt be allowed to take General IELTS if my profession was written as Student on my passport. Whats true?

I am a Full time worker and a part time student. I newly made my passport as STUDENT as my profession as I am gonna apply for a visa for my Ph.D in a few months. and then I am also gonna apply for my Immigration to Canada as Skilled worker.

Well, that is a bit weird!! My passport does not have any entry for profession, nor any place where you can enter the profession.
I wonder what they will do in my case (LOL).

I dont now what you talking about...A profession on the passport? never heard but anyway
i took IELTS exam last week in Chicago, USA. They just used my passport to make sure the name is correct and the picture on my passport to match the real person appearing in the exam.

hope it helps...

Thanks,

V.

So as Vishal said, Profession written on passport isnt at all important on the IELTS test date. That is wat I used to know. So the question arises, Does the profession written on the passport taken into consideration while processing the Skilled worker's application?? I am in Dilemma, Should I apply for the immigration at first or to apply for the Visa for my Ph.D. :o(

I dont wanna get refused in anyone, neither for my Immigration nor for my visa for the Ph.D.

Varies from country to country. Depends on the passport you hold -I mean country wise.

I am agree with BobbyB, i think what OP is talking about, its not for all. Forexample, i am from south America, i never seen on mine passport or number of other countries any portion of "Profession".

Alhamdulilah BobbyB, Allah da sukar hai ,te tusen wi punjabi ho?

So, The bottom line is that Whats written on the passport as profession is no way a part of consideration on the day of IELTS test. The test taker could either be a Student or a Service holder. Right?

CORRECT!!

It is the applicant who choses kind of test required with ielts. Nothing to do with status of applicant ie student or employed.
