My wife in Canada is sponsoring me and today I got my passport renewed, in haste I forgot to update my profession which has changed from student to Banker and my qualifications from Intermediate (High School 12 years) to Bachelor. Would it hinder the migration process or delay the process. should I get new updated passport or go ahead with this one , if they ask me then i go and update the passport?? or else continue with this .Please help. Highly appreciate.
Regards

I don't really think it matters all that much. I had a passport up until this year that described my occupation as "accounting clerk" when I've been a qualified accountant for almost 3 years. My new passport states "accountant" but I only cared that it had my married name. Our passports don't list degrees, so unless you're a big stickler for your honourifics, I can't see the urgency to change it.

Canadian passports and many passports from around the world do not state profession, just biographic data. CIC doesn't care what the passport states as your profession.

All machine readable passports show bio data on face but when inserted in machine they disclose other things as well, but as you say CIC doesn't care about profession, any other senior please who have had such experience please come forth and remove my anxiety.

well in my bf case his passport say soldier and its a 10yr passport which he will be travelling on until we get thru with his Canadian Pr and subsequent citizenship we are not renewing it as it makes no sense so for the next 5+ yrs he will be traveling with a Jamaican passport that says soldier until when he can apply for a Canadian passport I don't forsee a problem
