We have recently immigrated to Canada and are based in Ottawa. My wife has been thinking of going back to school and she is considering Practical Nursing (2 years program) or Lab Technician (1-year program) through Algonquin College and Algoquin Careers Academy (I thought it was part of Algoquin college). Has anyone currently completing or completed either these programs? How has your experience been? Would you recommend this program and career choice?
My wife has BA degree with a major in History and minor In Geography, but she has worked as a buyer for the last 8 years. We did consider Supply Chain Program, but it does not have a coop aspect and we found that opportunities in supply chain and buyer related jobs are limited in Ottawa.
Your thoughts and advice would be really helpful.
