I hope someone can help me before I lose my mind, haha
My partner (sponsor) is sponsoring me for PR under the family class. From what we understand, the checklist document (IMM 5589) says that I don't need to get a police certificate and clearance because I didn't stay anywhere outside of Canada for more than 6 months and I have been in Canada for more than 6 months.
I also do not need a police clearance from my home country as I moved to Canada under a study permit when I was under 18.
However, when I go to the online portal to submit my documents, it asks me for the police certificate and says it’s a required document. Does anyone have any experience or know what to do?
Do I have to just make a “dummy document” that states “not applicable” or something of that nature? It seems odd that they say I don’t need it but it’s required. TIA!
