Passport Expiry

Hello all

I applied for PR under the express entry FSW on July 31. I am I'm patiently waiting for a decision to be made but I am concerned about if there is a issue with my passport expiring in May of 2016.

Should I go back home to get my passport extended or do you think between now and may will be enough time?

Even though they said they will process the application within 6 months, has anyone gotten it in longer than 6 months? How long do they really take to process the application?

Hi, on PPR it says we should have our passport valid for at least 6 months and has 2 blank pages. Also, PPR is valid for 30 days but you could extend it if you have any special circumstances.
Processing time is unpredictable. I suggest if you can renew your passport and get it within 3 months, then do it.

I would suggest renewing the passport as it takes max 1 month. Hopefully you should get it before you get your PPR.
