Passport expiration

Have a couple of questions on passport expiration I was hoping somebody may know about

• I am currently on BOWP after being on IEC visa. If I get a new passport while on this, what do I need to do here in relation to both updating the BOWP and my in progress PR application?
• Making the assumption that I eventually get PR, what do I need to do if I get a new passport once I have PR?

I think this would be fine for PR application, but from looking at the web form I am a bit confused if I would need to go somewhere else to get a new BOWP and ETA for the new passport? It seems like the web form is for modifying in progress applications but I already have the BOWP?

No, you do not need a new BOWP.

It won't cause a problem if I come back in the country and my passport number is different from the passport number listed on the work permit?

Just carry both passports. Pretty sure in this day and age, old and new passports are linked in databases : )

Keep in mind, people's passports expire all the time, they get new ones all the time. This is not a novel occurrence.
