You need a couple more posts before you can send PMs.

Just do a search on her name, and you'll find you can look at her posts. Very informative and helpful, Love_Young.

How sweet of you to say, thank you! :-* You are very informative as well. :D

Thats awesome!!! Are you in St. John's too? I'm Canadian (Newfoundlander) and my wife's American, from Florida. We got married on May 19th and she's here with me now, and just yesterday I sent off our application inland. :) Well, what I'd really like to know is - why did you decide to apply inland? Soooo many lawyers, CIC agents, people on this site, etc etc say how for Americans it's much better to apply outland, as I believe most do. My wife and I decided to apply inland just because we wanted to ensure we'd be able to be together throughout the process. Didn't want to chance a lengthy outland process, even though ours will most likely be very straight forward. Did you have any troubles throughout the process? We're hoping for a really smooth one. :)

We are from the Paradise area. My hubby is the Newfoundlander and I am from Virginia. We got married in May as well in 2010.
We made the decision to apply inland based on several factors that we weighed cautiously for months. 1) Being my husband has Cystic Fibrosis so occasionally his health does go up and down sometimes to the point of hospitalization for a good while so I didn't want to take my chance of being a way from him during a time like that if it were to happen again and with good reason as his health did suffer a bit in April and he went on sick leave just before AIP and is still on it currently. 2) We couldn't afford to fly to New York in case there were to be an interview, slim chance but still needed to be weighed in there. Plus my mom was not fond of that chance either. 3) Like you, I wanted that guarantee to stay together through the whole process even though we could have Outland but I would have worried too much. 4) To teach myself some patience for once. Lol. Still barely have any but it is better. 5) And lastly just because it felt right in our hearts and guts. Sometimes you just have to flow with it. And no, I didn't have any troubles at all. Very smooth other than the wait of course. ;)

Wow!!! I'm from St John's but my wife and I actually live in the Paradise area as well, in Elizabeth Park!! Very glad that you had a smooth process, we're hoping for the same! Also, do you know if we were called for an interview, would the interview be in St. John's? That's something I was wondering. We can't really afford to fly to like Ontario at the moment either. And also, I'm very sorry that your husband has CF. I actually have two cousins with it and it's terrible. Both of their cases are bad. But yeah, most of your reasons for applying inland are pretty much the same as ours. It's nice to know we're not the only ones. :)

Oh yeah, we don't live right next to there but just near Canada Post and Needs. I hope that you have a smooth process also. Yes, if you need an interview you will know 9-10 months after it was received by Vegreville. They would then transfer it to St. John's. The local office is actually the North Atlantic building on Pippy Place. I used to think it was downtown on Duckworth but it isn't. Aww thank you, it is okay. We get through it together, you know? :) Luckily his isn't too bad but he has his times as I am sure you know. How old are you cousins? My hubby might know one of them. Yeah, it is nice knowing you aren't the only one and believe me, you aren't. I used to get bothered from time to time about applying Outland as I felt almost pressured but it wasn't their fault. They were just trying to help me but sometimes you just have to listen to your gut. We should find a way to keep in touch. Maybe it will let me PM you on here.

My cousins are 16 and 11. And yeah I thought it was at Pippy place but I wasn't 100% sure. Well, how are you adjusting to Newfoundland? And yes we definitely should keep in touch! My msn is brahski@live.com, you can add me there, and if you don't have msn I'll PM you my phone number so you can text!

Aww I hate they are so young and already having a rough time. Hubby is 21. It is taking time to adjust. I have been actually living here for 2 1/2 years. But it is taking more stages to adjust to the fact this is my home now but it is a great feeling too. I will PM you.

Yeah I know what it mean. It seems so hard to find people from here but when you do, it feels nice and comforting. :)

Sorry this is off-topic, but I wanted to message Love_Young as well for some advice- but since I'm new to the forum, I'm not sure how to do that?

I am starting to think that when you are a new member you aren't allowed to "PM" a member until you have more posts. Maybe to prevent scammers and junk. ::) Thanks for telling them how to go about it though, that helps. ;)
