I am currently on a work permit (ICT) in Canada valid till Nov 2018. My husband is working in US. His H1-B extension is in process. I want to apply for Spousal open work permit for him.
We are not sure if he will be in US during the complete process of the OWP. If his H1B gets rejected, he may have to travel to India within the next 2 weeks after receiving the rejection. If we apply for his Spousal OWP now, we have to mention the current country of residence as USA. If he travels back to India due to H1B extension rejection, will we be allowed to change the address provided during the application of OWP?
If we wait till he gets his H1B extension status, I am afraid it may be too late to apply for his Spousal OWP as my Canada ICT WP validity will be less than 6 months.
