My OCI application status changed to “Please complete your application by uploading the required documents” but I haven’t received any email. What should I do?

Today when I checked the status on the OCI portal, it shows:

“Please complete your application by uploading the required documents.”

But I didn’t receive any email from CGI explaining which documents are missing.

Has anyone experienced this before?
Do they usually email later, or should I proactively contact CGI Vancouver/BLS?

Any help or similar experiences would be appreciated. Thanks!

Submitted to BLS Toronto - Premium - on Oct 11, 2025, for my wife and me.
We both have the same message - “Please complete your application by uploading the required documents”
However, my OCI status is 'GRANTED' and my wife's is 'PENDING'.
Not sure what docs to upload and where

In my case the status says "Granted" and remarks columns is "N/A" but just below it there is a red bold line saying "Please complete your application by uploading the required documents." This seems confusing to me as well as there is no email communication for additional docs.

Most likely a glitch, especially since the last two days, the site was unavailable. Looks like OCI team took a black Friday off.

Also submitted at BLS Toronto Oct 11, 2025 and used premium service, and got the same message today: "Please complete your application by uploading the required documents."

BLS tracking said Processing at Consulate General since October, but ociservices.gov.in website said Application Date was Nov 13, 2025.

Flight to India is on Sunday and I already applied for e-entry visa Nov 29, 2025 but that is pending.
 
Do you need to submit original canada passport for OCI at BLS Brampton?
When we submit application in person, there is no need to submit Canada Passport. We will submit self-attested copy of Canada Passport Biodata pages. The will take original Passport for verification and give it back to us immediately. If it is postal application, we need to send the Canada Passport too along with other documents which will be returned later through post.

In the checklist, you can search for "original and self attested copy" to know which documents we need to carry original and self-attested copies. It is better to carry original documents for other copies too, in case they ask for it.

BLS Mail-In OCI Application – Need Help With “Upload Documents” Message
Hi everyone,
I mailed my OCI application to BLS Surrey, and they received it on Nov 6 (they asked me to email my COPR as well).
On the OCI website, the status changed to “Under Process” on Nov 8.

Today (Dec 2), when I checked the status again, it says: "Please complete your application by uploading the required documents."

"The entered application ID has been acknowledged at the Mission/FRRO. Re-upload is not allowed now."


Does anyone know what this means?
Do I just have to wait for an email from the consulate, or is there another way to upload documents?
 
This message is recently showing up even for granted and issued OCI card applications. So nothing to worry.

Yes , i see the same message for my daughters OCI which is already in granted status and OCI card dispatched from printing.

I also see the same message although I have already received the OCI card. That could be a error in the site. I would give it few days and it should resolve.

your timeline pls ? how long did it take for the card delivery after the status changed to printing

I am seeing the same message. When I spoke to BLS, they said they can't see the upload request and that my application is still under process, so there is no need to worry. I think it might be an error since many others are seeing the same message.

I am seeing the same message. When I spoke to BLS, they said they can't see the upload request and that my application is still under process, so there is no need to worry. I think it might be an error since many others are seeing the same message.
