Vanaparthi, who was the last officer who reviewed your case? I am just wondering because my friend who is an October 2013 applicant still waiting for background check after medicals requested and done last June 2014! That person got stuck in the process for too long. The MP wasnt being that helpful even after some inquiries, and contacting CIC havent been fruitful either.

i was also in the same situation and after a long time my application was moved to New York (28th March) and i have got the PPR on 22nd April. you could follow the below steps.

1. Contact MP (which you have already done)
2. Write a letter to CIC Ottawa explain the situation and request for the acknowledgement.

I’m (XXXXX- Principle Applicant’s Name) working in (XXXXXX-Company Name), Toronto. I have filed my application for permanent residence on 18th November 2013.My application number is (XXXXXXX and UCI number is XXXXXXX).
We got our medical request on (XXXXXX Date ).Me and my wife completed our medicals in (XXXXX- Month) itself and our online status for medicals were updated on (XXXXXX Month – 2014).We did not hear back from CIC till then.

Since my application crossed the processing time of PR applications (14 months), having not received my passport request yet I just want to confirm that whether my application needs any further documents from my side. Please advise me on this. Please confirm me the present status of my application.

Finally the game is over.....after a long wait.

passport is back on Friday and landed on Friday evening (1st May) itself......now the tension is re-leaved.
and the process is now completed for me.

and the online status shows application processing is completed.

i hope you may receive your passport request in another 20 - 30 days because your timelines are similar as mine.
i am not sure why yours is delayed so long....but as per the timelines it should have been completed if there is no modifications done to your file after filling.

I just got my medicals request via email yesterday, I applied in Nov 2013 and been waiting since. it should be coming to you soon as well, good luck!
