How much time does it on average add to your processing time, if you don't pay all of your fees up front? I'm just wondering, because money is tight and we may have to pay the right to permanent residence fee later on.

Hey aerogurl87,

It's difficult to say... but form reading for different threads, it can delay from 1 month to more - or less sometimes if you are really lucky. it also depends on where you live. But consider it - the officer will have to issue the letter, send it, for you to receive it, then proceed with payment, and for them to match up with your application once received etc... so one month it seems is the usual time... a lot of people regretted not having paid it up front, but then again - for most of them it is because they were not aware of it, so that's a different case than yours.

Good luck with your decision!
Cheers,
Sweden

I agree its hard to say exatcly.
But I have heard a couple times that If you pay all your fees upfront it may shorten your process time by 2 months...

Pay all fees up front...beg, borrow, steal even...do what you have to do to get the money....it will cause delays...no one can say for certain how long, but why would you want to take the risk when the process is already so slow?

yes.....pay all up front if you can.......when you pay later you again and to deal with CIC and then wait for them to communicate to the VO........even if you send copy of receipts to your VO....they will wait till CIC contacts them confirming payment.......

Agreed with everyone else! We received a letter in December asking for Right of Perm. Res. Fee and PCC- sent off right away.....still waiting for some kind of movement on our file! Do whatever you can to have everything done up front....don't be like us :)

Ok, well that settles it then. I guess we're going to pay all the fees up front. We have the money in our savings, but didn't want to spend it. But I think this is a worthy cause of spending it, especially if it means we will get to be together permanently sooner, rather than later.
