Not joining after accepting offer

Friends,

I understand, its unethical, but extreme unforeseen circumstances is making be deny the offer I accepted about an week ago.

Will there be any legal issues per Canadian laws? I sincerely feel sorry and guilt for rejecting this, but this is something beyond my control.

Please suggest.

Assume you are talking in this thread about changing your mind on a job offer in which case the polite thing to do is to at least notify the company you changed your mind. As far as legal implications are concerned there are none as people do this all the time. Probably find that company now closed to you in the future but who knows given some companies can be foregiving.
