My wife in Mexico will soon send all of the documents to me here in Canada. What method of shipping is the safest, fastest and overall best? Thank you.

Jim

We always use UPS

and make sure you fill out the applicants info not the sponsors, as well as the email address that is on file with the embassy.

We made the mistake of putting my info instead of my husbands since he is the applicant and they wouldn't release any info to me.
Hey I was going to ask for a case specific but then I looked on the site and it said that if you are still within processing times then they don't allow it. True or false?? I would love to know what is going on with my husband's file. Does my lawyer have to ask or can my husband still request info although his lawyer is his Use of Rep??

they usually dont like to get emails before the 6 month time, but many people have emailed them before that.
like for instance we didnt hear anything in 5 month so we emailed them, turns out they sent us the aor via regular mail and it got lost and we would have never known if we didnt send them an email.
if you keep it short and to the point they dont have a problem with it. they just dont want people emailing them over and over and over again lol.

umm about the use of a rep thing im really not sure about that

Hola! I'm preparing my application but I'm in that paranoid phase , you know how it is. Would appreciate your opinion folks:

My worry in my case is that I'm mexican but living in the US(work), we met while I was in Canada (short term student) & after I returned we had a long distance for 2 years with 5 visits from her to me (2 when i was in mex and 3 when I relocated here in the US). We decided to get married, but we had to balance the following:

1) We both wanted to get married in Las Vegas (like in the movies hehehe)
2) Our loved ones were having a extremely difficult time scheduling time off their work to attend, or to gather the money to attend, or didnt even had a passport
3) We believe that a marriage is a celebration! and when our loved ones are having a hard time just to attend, its not cool.

So we decided to go and get married by ourselves with no family or friends at the ceremony. I went after the wedding to canada on a TRV to have a 'celebration' with her loved ones, it was a dinner.
And by the end of this year, we will travel to mexico so we can now have the 'celebration' with my loved ones in mexico. (I want to submit the application before that)\
That way we balance what is important to us

I'm afraid the fact that we got married by ourselves may cause the office to think the relationship is not genuine, opinions?

Thanks guys

Hola everybody!!!

I've been reading this thread since about a week, and I found a lot of interesting things. I'm the sponsored one, well I'm going to be because we are just preparing everything for applying outland as soon as we can, we miss each other so much.
I meet my husband two years ago, and we married in Jan. The only thing that worries me is that two years ago I apply for a TRV, which I was denied, the problem is that like in a lot of cases everybody told me not to say he was my boyfriend, so I say he was a family friend, which was true but I didn't say the whole truth. I met him in Jan 2011 we were together for three weeks and start the relationship, he came back to Canada and then he wanted me to apply for TRV two months later, because we want to see where the relationship was going to go and be able to know each other better. I had no idea how hard it can be to obtain a TRV, and I had no idea I was going to be applying for PR and that said he was just my friend now can be pretty bad, because I'm scared they can deny me PR or ban me for two years. So I would appreciate if some of you with all your experience can advise me how to deal with this situation. I have my meds done, and I'm paranoid about everything they can take as a bad thing.

Thank you

So it has been about 3.5 months since Citizenship and Immigration sent our application to the Embassy. We sent an enquiry after 3 months and they just got back to us today saying it's in the queue and they will process it in the order they received it...

On the plus side, we know they have it! We'll give it two more weeks before getting anxious. =)
