I have a rather complicated question, but I hope you guys can help. My fiancé is in Russia right now, and she would like to give birth in Canada, Toronto to be exact. Is it possible to sign some sort of contract stating that I will cover the medical expenses accrued by her in the chosen hospital, and then show this contract to the immigration department to get her visa? Is it possible to reserve a doctor and an approximate date of when she goes into labor?

Or, does she need to go to a physician approved by CIC in Russia, and get a medical visa through that route. I just don't want her application to be rejected, I want them to understand that I'll be covering all her medical expenses.

Any help would be much appreciated, thanks!

There's no such contract available for you to sign. A letter from a physician in Russia won't help either. If you indicate that she plans to give birth in Canada it's pretty much guaranteed her visitor visa will be refused.

She needs to apply for the visitor visa without mentioning her intentions to give birth in Canada. To be approved, she will need to show strong ties to her home country to prove she has no plans on remaining in Canada long term. Assuming the visa is approved, she should arrive well before the birth of her child. If she arrives in Canada looking visibly pregnant and the CBSA officer suspects she is coming to Canada specifically to give birth here, she may be refused entry into the country and sent home.

you must be joking to yourself....wake-up man be realistic....

you the cost of CS or normal delivery in canada.

insurance wont cover your delivery if you are a visitor.

last but not the least...airline wont allow you to fly in the last trimester..

so stop day dreaming and be realistic... ;D
