Does anybody has MVP, or irregular heartbeat? Is this a problem during medicals? I am so worried this might be a reason for rejection. Seniors please advise ASAP tomorrow is our medical.

If your medical ailment is such that it will not require immediate expensive surgery or cost to the Canadian goverment, you can clear the medicals, however, if they feel you might require expensive procedure or medical attention in the near future, you might be held back, it all depends on the doctor what he feels.

Best of luck.

Hi GAVINO
if anyone wioth MVP in this forum doen't reply to ur case, i think the best person to ask is the DMP. ask the DMP without disclosing ur name or identity that if u have MVP will CHC take it negatively.

best of luck.....

In my opinion, MVp is a condition where you can live with it and u can manage it with or without medications. Are you in a current treatment on this? Personally, I am having an irregular heart beat/ palpitations (although I haven't seen a cardiologist about it yet, I noticed that on myself because I am on the medical field), nothing was seen during my medicals. The doctor auscultated my heart beat but he didn't mention nor order any additional test for that.

I guess, if you are medically diagnosed with this illness better to inform the DMP...I believe that this condition is not a danger to public health/ public safety and also it will not cause an excessive demand on health and social services, unless it is on the uncontrollable stage right?

Medicals done! The DMP noticed my heart murmur and I have explained to him honestly regarding my MVP. He then requested me to go to outside cardiologist. I went to the cardiologist, did the ECG and 2Decho and they have found me to have heart murmur but with no clinical signs of mitral valve prolapse syndrome. My ECG is normal, and the good thing is he mentioned in the report I don't have any heart diesease and the cardiac murmus is innocent.

Thanks God! I hope everything goes well!

Hi everyone. Please share what happened to your application after they knew that you have mitral valve prolapse? Just worried coz i just also knew that i had this during the canadian medicals. Can this be a cause of rejection? Please advise. Thank you so much.

Hello, each case is unique to the extent, the trouble it could cause varies from person to person. The title cannot be generic for all in the same catogory. As long as an individual's case doesnt fit into excess of Canada's medical system, should not be a problem. If it appears to be so, CIC would ask one to go for additional tests and evaluations. Unless its an established case of excess to medical system, one could hope for a fairly good chance of not being bogged down.

If its an infection, they would likely ask you to demonstrate through a specialist that is the case in the form of a medical opinion. Unless the Doctor who is offering such opinion is some one highly reputed in your country of residence / attached to a speciality hospital, opinion may not go in your favor. The key, is to establish, your case will not cause (excessive) burden to Canada's medical system.

Generally, a re-medical(only for the affected member/dependant) will be permitted to prove your ability to negate your situation. I have known in certain cases a time of 90 days may be provided for such re-medicals. Depending when/how they communicate, one might lose a little time from this 90 day period. 90 day period begins from the date of communication. Not when you recieve it. Will it be a 90 day period for all cases, I am afraid I do not know.

Anyone please let me know what kind of tests did you have when you took medical exam?

My friend who got PR under FAM stream told me she took medical exams by blood tests, urine tests, X-ray and interview. So I had been thinking doctors don't check heart murmur... but I noticed it's misunderstanding... I'd like to know about FSW...

I have heart murmur though I don't know whether I have MVP or not.
Since 15 years ago, I took medical exam once a year. The doctor found my heart murmur. She just said "it's no problem". After that, I had been getting the same result every year till 2010. (After that I've moved to Canada so I didn't take that exam)
Now I'm thinking about whether or not I should translate my former medical results and bring it.

Thanks,
