I am a us citizen married to a canadian. He wants to sponsor me. Do I need to have the medical exam first and send it with my application to him before he is assessed or do I wait to hear if he is approved first?

Does he submit his application first or do we submit them together?

THanks! this has been so confusing.

If you're applying Outland, meaning you remain in the U.S. while the application is processed, then your sponsor must submit ALL the documentation including proof that the medicals have been done to the Case Processing Centre in Mississauga, all at the same time.

Thanks so much. THat's helpful. I've been waiting for someone to answer that for months.
One more thing...

My FBI clearance expires the end of Sept. And I still need my medicals. Should I re-submit the clearance request? And my daughter turns 18 in November. Is she going to need one also in mid-process? We are both clean, but I feel sure they will ask for one for her.

Thanks again!

The only requirement for FBI clearance is that it should not be older than three (3) months on the date you submit your application. If you submit your PR app before the September expiration date you should be fine. Your daughter is not required to submit FBI clearance, unless you submit your application AFTER she turns 18.

Brilliant! Thank you!
