It might have been my explanation and confusion surrounding acronym's.

This is from ecas:
Sponsored Person | Sponsorship Application Status | Permanent Residence Application Status
(husband's name) | Decision Made | Not Available

I click on hubby's name and I see:

We received your application to sponsor (husband) on May 30, 2011.

We started processing your application on July 5, 2011.

We sent you a letter on July 5, 2011 about the decision on your application. Please consider delays in mail delivery before contacting us.

The letter which through Canada Post we received before e-mail (in fact we've never received an e-mail of anything yet), the first thing we've got from the government (Case Processing Centre/CPC in Mississauga) says this:

"This letter refers to the Application to Sponsor a Member of the Family Class you submitted to this office on behalf of (husband).

We are pleased to advise that you have met the requirements for eligibility as a sponsor. Accordingly the undertaking and Application for Permanent Residence have been forwarded to the Visa Office in BUFFALO for further processing. It has been noted that you would like the application processed at the Detroit office."

Tells me several paragraphs about my responsibilities as a sponsor, and goes on later to tell me:

"This letter confirms receipt of the processing fee."

So I presume that our app is just awaiting transfer to Buffalo?

This is exactly what mine looked like on ecas. From the email they had sent as well, parts of which read like the info U have on just pasted on here, I understand that the PR application has been sent to the relevant VO.

My e-CAS only shows that my "application has been received on June 9, 2011" (referring to Buffalo getting it post-first stage approval. There's absolutely nothing else. Oh well, whatever.

Successfully signed up for the e-cas tracker. Yayyy!

Hopefully, a little peace of mind now. Hopefully. ::)

Thanks again ddobro2. :)

Sent my package back again today. Hopefully it will be there by tomorrow and I won't have to wait the whole 40 days again. :(

I had the same problem. Once it went back to Mississauga it was 2 days, and sponsorship approval. So hang in there. You aren't the only one.

Hiya folks,

I've been staying away from this site for a while in the hopes of coming back on to give you all some good news, but unfortunately there isn't any. I still haven't received approval (we're now on day 58) and when I phone the call centre, they are still unable to tell me anything. Even when I try to log into eCAS, it's unable to identify me.

The deadline for Mississauga to get back to me is next Friday, July 22nd. Do they HAVE to give me an answer then, or do they just have to let me know if someone is working on it? Has anyone had the same problem, or know someone on this site who has that I can speak to? I feel like I'm still are the starting block here and everyone has joined the race, but I'm still at the gates waiting and eager to get going. I feel so low and miserable. Please, can anyone give me any insight? :'(

When you say deadline, what do you mean?

A message was sent to Mississauga on June 22nd asking what the hell was happening with my application and Mississauga have 30 days to respond. July 22nd is day 30, Mississauga have to respond by this date.

OK, I think that unless it is specifically noted, immigration attempt to provide a reply within n days.
I would contact the call centre again to chase them.

Finally received my DM letter from Mississauga confirming my application has been approved and forwarded to V.O. in Manila. Just updated my profile and added File Transferred June 13, 2011.

No updates..... still waiting. :(

Congrats geekneeo. I just wanted to clarify for my own understanding....you mailed out your application May 11 and it was officially received only on June 29? Did you use Canada Post or a courier, and if you used CP did you track it?

It sounds like you haven't heard from CIC in Mississaugua by email or post yet, and the e-CAS update is the only contact, as indirect as it may be, from them so far. I noticed you added a date for AOR on your info in the left-hand column.......but am confused how you could have obtained it.....thanks in advance for clarifying that.

Yes I mailed my application on 11 May and it was delivered to Canada on 13 May (Korean post is great). Sponsorship approved on 14 June and transferred to Sydney (received email from cic about sponsorship approval) I havent heard from CIC again but on ecas it says my application was received 29 June in Sydney.

Hope that clarifies things for you.

Looking at the spreadsheet, Geekneeo filed his/her application May 13, got sponsor approval June 14 and the application has now been received at VO on June 29.

Now he/she has to wait like everyone else for PPR 8)

Yes that is exactly right. Where is the spreadsheet?

Hi all. Back from Canada now. I got my fingerprints taken and RCMP application made at the Commissionaires' office. The guy told me that he thinks (at least for citizenship applications) that people are randomly chosen by a computer for RCMP certificate requests, so it could happen to any one of us!

I should get my certificate in the post within two or three weeks. The dilemma is then whether to hold on to it and wait to see if CIC ask for it, or whether to send it to them anyway unsolicited. I'm worried if I send it without being asked, it may somehow get lost or not be matched up with my application.
