My work permit expired on Sep'2025 and currently in maintain/implied status. Can I apply for the NS PNP Express Entry ? I submitted my NSPNP application recently but it was denied stating that I need to submit a valid legal status document in Canada. I included the IRCC receipt that confirms I am allowed to stay and continue until July'2026. Yet, the NSPNP application is denied.
The bigger question for me is,
1. Can I apply NSPNP Express Entry application while being in maintained status ?
2. If Yes, What is the right document to include to proof my legal status in Canada.
Below is the response received from the NSPNP Immigration Office.
Proof of Status at the Time of Submission
Include the documents that apply to you:
• If you currently live in Canada, include a copy of proof of your legal status in Canada. Ensure that your proof is valid when you submit your application
. • If you currently live in a country of which you are NOT a citizen, include a copy of proof of your legal status in that country.
A letter from IRCC indicating someone has applied for a permit is NOT a valid status document.
Thanks in advance for reading my post and responding.
