If you are on H1B, lose your job (move back home to India permanently) after getting ITA & submitting your application. Is it possible to change the address to your Indian address?

What are the potential implications?

Will this delay the process? If yes, by how long?

I dont think there is any issue. I saw few posts during 2016 on emailing the cic to request for stamping at local consulate after ppr email received. Candidates used to get another ppr email from local consulate after 2 weeks. So you would be losing 2 weeks if you are requesting after ppr.
Also the current system is centralized and its nothing to do with the country where you live/move. Living in US and changing address is same as changing to some other country.

It was a problem only during previous immigration system wherein the processing was done in the local consulates. Now, i dont see this an issue even if you change address before ppr.
