Hi,

My wife's aunt is a Canadian citizen, 65 years old with no:
  • husband who is a permanent resident or Canadian citizen.
  • common-law partner who is a permanent resident or Canadian citizen.
  • parent or grandparent or child who is a Canadian permanent resident or citizen.
However, she has a sister who is a Canadian citizen, 70 yrs old and that sister has her own family.

Now, I just want to ask if the one who is 65 yrs old & single can sponsor my wife under Lonely Canadian Program.

Thanks.

No, she cannot. She doesn't meet the requirements. She has a sister in Canada.

It has nothing to do with her age. The fact she already has family in Canada disqualifies her from sponsoring your wife.

In Canada, our rules, laws, policies are clear, precise with no exception. Either you meet or NOT.
