Congrats PinkyM!!! Kingston is on fire for real the last few weeks. I wish you and everyone else that got their PPR a fast passeport return.

By curiosity, did they call your husband when they did ask to redo the PC, or they requested either by snail mail or by email?

Hello everyone!

It's been a long time since I've posted to the forum, but I hope everyone is doing well. Things have been really busy with me the past few months.

Congrats to chickie! I actually jumped for joy when I read about PPR. ;D

Question...my husbands criminal record check is no longer valid ( I'm under the assumption it's only valid for 6 months). Should I email KGN or just redo it and send it in? Also.. did anyone send in their application without the PR fee? I'm just starting to wonder if not sending in the payment will increase my wait time significantly or not?

I am not sure if anyone has answered your question as I haven't gotten any farther so sorry if some one did already but I will give u my thoughts I would suggest redoing your police check if it has expired and just keep it until they ask for it but most are good for 9 to 12 months. Also pay your rprf fee as soon as you can because yes it can hold up your file sometimes as long as two months or more. We got asked for ours in May and didn't hear from them again until August but then others have been asked and heard from them sooner so it can go both ways but better to be safe then sorry right! Don't feel too discouraged or get yourself down about the increased processing time. If you check out the spreadsheet you can see that many people get processed quicker than the estimated time. I know that it feels like a punch in your gut as I felt the same way when the processing time changed to 22 months but stay strong!

This process will test every part of you and take every ounce of patience that you can find. I know for myself that it has also really tested our marriage. There were some very dark days (I just had a few of those days last week) but remember that this too shall pass. There is light at the end of this immigration tunnel!! We are also all here to encourage and support you when those dark days feel overwhelming!

Any recommendations on using DHL or Tara for passport delivery?

Also, does anyone know the closest DHL or Tara to Runaway Bay? I am thinking Ocho Rios?

my recommendation is dhl but make sure you get it from a head office dhl and not an outlet because your tracker won't work until the package has left Kingston but you will be able to track all the way if u buy from a head office. Also another thing I learned today is that during the slow season which is now ??? Dhl only picks up from Kingston on Wednesday and Thursday twice a day and once on Friday. During busy season they pick up everyday! Good to know since I have been staring at the dhl tracker for two days now lmao! Tomorrow is the day! Speak it out now!

Thank you to everyone for the congrats, we are so excited.

When I got the email, I was driving down the road in rush hour traffic - I totally took my hands off the wheel and started screaming & crying. My kids were in the back seat asking me what was wrong while I was trying to dial hubby's number, but since I was shaking so much, I couldn't get the numbers right....took 3 tries. He answered the phone and I said, did you read it, he says read what, I said, they want your passport and he started screaming.....I have never heard him excited like that!

Hubby & I have the same email address, so it is set up on both our phones. I just happen to see it first! We did not sign the representative forms though.
