Actually elevator service people are in great need in Canada but you need to be certified to work on elevators and I assume OP isn’t licensed in Canada. OP should pursue licensing although I’m not sure if that is possible without an apprenticeship in Canada. Something they’ll need to look into. Finding someone to act as a mentor is also quite difficult.
