Is shipping non-perishable food items allowed?

Hi members,

Has anyone shipped non perishable food items along with their belongings as part of their move to Canada from US?
Can we ship unopened, non-perishable, dry food items such as pasta boxes, flour, crackers, lentils, spices, rice, etc. How about self-sealed stuff (putting it in zip-lock bags and labeling/taping it off?
I know anything that can spill and seeds are typically not permitted so I am not planning to take any of those items.
I have heard mixed answers for this question. Any clarity would help.

If you are going to ship anything, it should be in original packages / containers. Do not send anything self-sealed. There are restrictions on what food can be brough into Canada. You can find this information here:
