Sure if you have a visit visa nothing to stop you contacting potential employers but do not expect any employers to offer you a job given they would need to go to great expense and effort to support an LMIA application which generally might only happen if you have skills not readily available in Canada.
You cannot of course work at all on a visit visa and also not advisable to say to CBSA at the border that looking for a job is the purpose of your visit as opposed to tourism. So be aware of this by not making it obvious about purpose of visit should you be unfortunate to be directed to a secondary CBSA inspection where they can inspect anything you have with you, phone included. Too easy to overthink things as well by the way.
