Is French essential?

it is not a must if you have a validated job offer and you apply through arrima, but if you wanna settle down in Quebec, French is the only official language in this province/nation. Especially, the party CAQ in power is trying to cut down the social service in English as soon as possible. If I was given an opportunity to choose my path again, I would either learn French a few years ago or stay away from Quebec.
