So, I guess I will be doing my landing sometime soon. Already sent my passport and waiting to get it back. But i was wandering is there a requirement that you have to have a minimum amount in your bank account? any ideas? Any suggestions?

And all if you people who have already done landing, what kind of documents they had asked you as a proof?

Any replies would be greatly helpful!

Thanks!

I did my landing a month ago at Coutts, AB, I took with me everything I could, for example, pay stubs, tax assessments, utilities bills, job letter, work permits, my kids school papers, etc, etc. passports and formats, the only thing they ask me for was all the work permits that I had, they don't want you to keep them.

Cheers

Thanks for your reply Salmtzo. So I am pretty sure you recieved some kind of paper with instructions for landing with your passport return? Right? Dos it say you need this and this for landing?

umairz,

No, I did not received instructions about this, returning your old work permits is not mandatory but they prefer that you do it, the comment from the officer was that they have found work permits in the black market and they are starting to ask for them to destroy them, I did not have all of my old work permits with me and the officer ask me to destroy all of them. I did not have any other instruction but I decided to have everything with me just in case.

Cheers

Does anyone know if you are the primary applicant with a dependant coming in from another country.. Do you both have to show the settlement fund infor? or just the primary applicant who resides in canada.. Thanks guys.

cannime,

Both are doing the landing at the same time, right?, I think the principal applicant is to show all of those documents only.

No salmtzo.. not landing at the sametime.. Principal applicant is already in canada.. Spouse coming in on a diff. date.
Thanks..

I'm thinking it should not be an issue for the spouse.. as the principal applicant is already settled here with a job..

Pls share your thoughts.

Is that possible?, When I did the landing I signed a paper to confirm that nobody else (dependents) was doing the landing on a later date...

Well, may be because they were with you, that's why salmtzo? Because think about this if you sponsor someone while you are here and they are back home? Then what? Same rule applies. But that's probably because you have applied for their residency later. But If you apply together than it might be diff. and they want you all to land together?

Interesting!

umairz,

That is our case, We are a family of 5, the youngest is Canadian but the rest of us were in the same application, they requested the passports all at once and they return all passports and the all documents to do the landing at the same time to the same address; I do not know how will work if somebody needs to do the landing on a different date, but as you said, may be it is different if VO knows that some family members are in a different place.

Cheers!!

this situation relates to a spouse living and working in canada and the other in the Uk... So they will have to land at diff times for sure..
I think i know people who have done this.. i'll find out how they went about it and share..
