IQAS ECA timeline tracking

Hi All,

I just received the AOR email from IQAS(16th Apr 2018)


Re: Receipt of your International Qualifications Assessment Service (IQAS) application - academic documents


Thank you for applying to the International Qualifications Assessment Service (IQAS) for an Educational Credential Assessment (ECA) for immigration purposes. This is to confirm that your academic documents were received by the IQAS office and your file is now placed in line for processing. Please visit www.iqas.alberta.ca for the current processing time.
During the assessment, you will only be contacted by our office if we require additional information or documents.


I've send all the documents(application and transcripts) in one package and they were delivered to IQAS on 6th Mar 2018 . So is this AOR1 or AOR2 and when can I expect my ECA to be complete ?

Yes I got mine on 11 April. Since your 2nd AOR was in April may be it will take little longer

its 1 month and 4 days of processing buddy as 13 march and 17 april

don't know what they were reviewing for 1 month and 4 days

MBA from IBA, Karachi

Both recognized, 4 years for bachelors and 2 years MBA

Thats great ... can you share if you have a regular MBA or Evening MBA and what was your enrollment year?

I am also awaiting ECA, my degree is BE from NED and MBA (Evening) from IBA ....(Enrolled in 2009)

Received 2nd AOR from IQAS on 2nd april. As per the timelines in this thread, it takes 4-6 weeks to get ECA after the AOR.

I had parallelly applied for ICES BCIT as well. They have given me an applicant ID and received documents from the university, however, I have still not paid CAD 275 fee. Should I go ahead and pay and hope for an ECA sooner then IQAS? Or its not worth it ?

I want an ECA asap cause getting the ECA will take my points up to 468 and ITA will be a done deal.

Any suggestions? Confused.

i guess ICES BCIT takes many months.. IQAS will take on average 4-6 weeks or maximum 12 weeks from 2nd april... so you can decide ..can't you

I can't find anyone on this forum or any other forum who has used BCIT recently. It's all posts from last year. Anyway, thanks for the input!

Enrolled in IBA in 2013, passed in 2016

Hey guys, I am sharing with you my experience with IQAS so far.

Me and my wife applied in two different dates and our timelines are:

MINE (bachelor's degree and MBA):
Application dropped at IQAS: February 21, 2018
Academic document from institution 01 dropped at IQAS: February 26, 2018
Academic document from institution 02 dropped at IQAS: March 07, 2018
1st AOR (application received): March 28, 2018 (approx. 5 weeks)
2nd AOR (academic documents received): April 18, 2018 (approx. 7 weeks)
Now waiting for ECA..

By the way, I'm not sure whether they are going to send me another AOR mentioning that they received the 2nd institution's documents or if this AOR I just received today already includes both institutions' documents..

WIFE (secondary school diploma):
Application dropped at IQAS: March 07, 2018
Academic document from institution dropped at IQAS: March 01, 2018
1st AOR (application received): No email yet.
2nd AOR (academic document received): April 18, 2018 (approx. 6 weeks)
Now waiting for ECA..

Also not sure if they already checked/received the application package dropped. Guess I might still receive another AOR email. Who knows..
