inquiry about work permit

hi i am international student graduating this 28 april , my visa is getting expired in 30 may , but my college is saying that we wil get graduation letter after 30 days of the graduation , and graduation letter is required to get workpermit here so now in situation what i can do and ,they told me something about bridging letter so can you tell me more about it what i can do now in this situation.
