I have a question regarding "landing" after you get your passport back. Do you have to cross the border after you recieved you passport back from Ottawa if you already in Canada or you just have to go to the near cic office? what is the difference? and landing means change your sin #?

no i haven't. I am just wondering as I know ppl who are inland and they are going to border "to land" makes me confused as i always thought you can just updated your sin # after you get your passport back.

You need to do 'landing' to become a PR. Only after that you can change your SIN #. You can either cross the border and return to 'land' or book an appointment at a CIC office to do an inland 'landing'. Landing is the process when you get your CoPR validated by a Border Security officer to become a PR.

Operation Manual I found on CIC website for Inland landing
