Dear seniors,

I need guidance from any of experts for applying visitor visa to my Father.

My current status is Canadian PR, working as full time with my wife. How much the chance to bring him here in Canada only short period. He doesn't have job in home country, no income and no travel history.

However, I and my wife would sponsor and support all expenses during he stay in Canada, we are planing to show bank statements and ours Canadian saving account.

I just wanted to make sure and need advise from seniors then I will gather documents and go ahead to fill an application form.

Must appreciate for the reply.

I think it's possible provided you keep the trip to 2-3 weeks.

Thanks for advise, but he wouldn't stay that long.

Doesn't matter. You can use the full 2 years or you can leave anytime before that. And it's a re-entry visa

Sounds great, Thanks mf4361

You don't need a super visa for a short visit. You are just as good with a multiple entry TRV where he could stay up to 6 months and visit on a regular basis. I have heard of people getting TRV's valid up to 10 years but it will not be valid longer than his passport in any case. You don't have to show funds or promise to support him financially if you apply for a regular visit visa for him but it may help. He should show that he has ties to his home country and will return there after his visit. Say his purpose is family visit and he will stay for 2-3 weeks.
