Hi,

I am currently visiting Canada and I found an employer to file an LMIA for me as in house care giver.

Is it possible for me to apply for my temporary foreign visa from within Canada ?

Thanks,

Julien

It is up to the employer whether they want to start and pay for the LMIA process. Then you could apply for a work permit. Do you have experience and training in childcare? The process can take 6 months with no guarantees.

Actually this is for a position of care giver for high medical needs, and I have 10 years of experience in that field.

Assuming that the LMIA takes less than 6 months (my future employer is currently filing for the LMIA) and I can visit Canada for 6 months with my ETA, can I apply from within Canada or am I obliged to leave the country and come back ?

Thank you,

Julien

I assume that you are a nurse. Is there a reason you would remain in Canada for 6 months? Do you have the savings to show you can support yourself. Have you finished another job in Canada.
