how will i be asked to prove my financial funds once i land in canada

hi all,
i was wondering that if i get my study permit and land in Canada, i will most certainly be asked to show a proof that my funds can be transferred to Canada
my question is, what means can i use to prove i have the funds in Canada? what is the procedure after i land in Canada?
and is it okay that i show a slightly smaller amount of funds ( due to tickets and other travel expenses ) and can it be less than CAD10000 or not?
