If you sent your application with tracking (that shows proof of delivery), and also applied for an Open Work Permit (OWP) you have 'implied PR status' now. This implied status is valid until your work permit is approved (which gives you temporary status). If your PR application is refused for any reason the implied status is revoked immediately and you'll fall back onto your visitor visa status. If your visitor visa has expired you would need to apply for an extension.I'm a Principal Applicant and have applied application under Family class(Spouse). My sponsor has sent the application on 3rd September 2020 and based on the people feedback, my application can take way to long to proceed(Hoping for the Best!!).
My query is can I apply for tourist visa at this moment as well?
Also, the implied status that comes by applying for an OWP (before it's actually issued) is only valid when you're in-country. You can't use it to cross back into Canada should you leave for any reason.
