Congrats Syed! It must be an amazing feeling now to be a PR. After all that waiting!
What is that refusal letter given by the US border? Is it going to look bad on our records? I do have a US visa...
Thanks!

it is just a letter...i did not see any names on that...and I do not think that it is going to be bad on our records.......

actually I forgot to ask the same question to US security guys...when you go there do not forget to ask them...and let me know the answer too....

I received the following email even though my passport was sent to them last week.

This refers to your application for Permanent Residence in Canada.
Case Status:
In order for us to continue the processing of your application, we require the following ORIGINAL document:

> Passport/Travel Document: Valid passport or travel document . This must be received at this office by: 06/15/2013

Sincerely,

I think they are calling employers or back ground checks ..They are giving preference to CEC and others applicants ..not pnp

but if BC govt has approved it and the trade is listed in NOC A list. Than I guess they shouldnt have any issues
they shudnt be doing any checks or so.

my fiance's case was also BC PNP and she got her passport back in 3rd week

12 weeks is too long and illegal to hold passports for so long .I wonder how do they get away with this. :'(

My friend's friend is in Alberta. He got his passport after 8th months
When he got it. The visa stamp was 4 months old...

He has been writing emails... getting intouch with embassy... immigration... everyone..
When he lost hopes and thought his passport is lost; he got it back from them and they just said in email sorry for delay.

But he got it this last week friday.... and has completed his landing...

After exactly 2 months waiting, I got this:

Dear Sir/Madam,
We have received your passport and your application is currently in queue to be finalized. Please note that we are unable to estimate the remaining processing time required for your application.
Please note that it is your responsibility to ensure your status in Canada remains valid. In order to do so you must reapply for a study visa. Once you receive your permanent residence status your visa application fees can be refunded.
Regards,

How long is this queue?

I called CIC and the lady said... there is no time limit for how long they can keep your passport. if you have emergency to travel you can go to your embassy and request travelling documentation paper for specific place where you want to go

This really is B***S***

Jason Kenny should look in to this and think of properly distributing work among all these agents
and should keep a track as how many files to take and how much they must complete to clear the backlog and generate a valid wait time for everyone..

Is there any way we collectively can escalate this to someone who can move the needle? I really need to have my passport now because I need to travel overseas to attend an exam and not doing it will likely waste my full academic year.
