How frequent is whiteboard interview in Canada for IT jobs? How is it done?

I want to come prepared for job hunting as all immigrants and my concern is the whiteboard interview.

How is it done for junior/middle java backend developers? Algorithmic coding? Some web application bug fixing? Or writing some api for the task...

Please share your experience and knowledge.

there are usually online tests sent by employers. once you pass them HR will schedule a technical round.
