asking on behalf of a friend: I did my landing years ago before the COVID. Then, as an inland applicant, I went down to the border for flag poling.
But now, since March 2020, flag poling was not allowed as it's considered nonessential travel. I heard that at the final stage of PR application for inland applicants, they would receive everything electronically, including the e-version of COPR, and then its validation is also completely online, without having to physically cross the border (I know even back then before 2020, such option to confirm PR status in a local immigration office has also existed---but this office visit for PR confirmation has also been halted).

Then how exactly does the confirmation process work? Will the applicant be asked such important questions concerning change of status (such as martial status, death of primary applicant or dependent, newborn child, criminality) once again before things could proceed to the final moment?
