HELP!!!!!

I am a British citizen and got married to a Canadian last year. I applied for my PR papers from within Canada.

I had to leave and come back to England and now I want to return I have been told by some ppl that I have forfeited my application because I left. And there is a chance immigration might not let me through.

Can anyone help me out here on how to get back to Canada, without forfeiting my application?

You will only forfeit the application if you can't get back into Canada. You should be able to re-enter Canada since you are from a visa exempt country. Unfortunately there's always a chance immigration might not let you in.

How long were you out of the country and for what purpose? If it was a relatively short time away and for a good reason, I see no reason they would not let you in when you give proof of that and of your pending inland application.

I have only been away for about 2 months. I left because my mum thought she had cancer, cuz she felt a lump and was scared.

Ah, ok. I remember your post somewhere else. I believe CharlieD responded to you. His advice was very good. I think 2 months is not a long time and certainly that is a very good reason to travel.

Yea I re posted just to get other peoples ideas.

and im going to the embassy tomorrow, and if all goes well I plan to leave at the end of the month.

I just really dont wanna reapply for my PR again cuz getting a police check from england takes ages.

A police certificate in the UK should not take long.
There are two services:

Standard - 10 working days.
Premium - 2 working days.

Thats what I was thinking. It took so long and I couldnt send my application for PR without it. It was so frustrating. lol

Just curious - do you think those riots happening in London at the moment would make it even harder for someone to get a background check back quickly, or would it not play any role?

IMO - No impact, background checks are not usually quick anyway

They said as long as I state my case, that there should be an 85% chance that I should be let through.

Just praying that everything works out.

The quicker I leave England and move back to Canada the better. Love it there.
