Hi,
I have received my PR visa however i had not declared my child in the application as she was born after recieving the PNP NOI. We were under the impression that we can declare the child afterwards as per the IRCC website: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigr...67.1405754350.1536220451-154035414.1531133755

The website says:
"
If you add a dependant to an existing application, it could take longer to process your application. If you don’t want a processing delay for your application, these are other ways your dependant could come to Canada:

"
If I declare my child now(before travelling to Canada), will my visa get cancelled and will i have to wait for another invite? Or will i be able to add my child as a dependant to the existing PR status.

Please guide!!

Thanks.

It is mandatory that you declare your child BEFORE landing. If you fail to declare your child before landing, you will never be able to sponsor your child for PR and bring your child to Canada to live here. You must add your child to your existing application. Your application will not be canceled, however there will be some delay in processing.

Thanks a lot for your prompt reply.

I have already received the PR visa on my passport after approval in the application. Can i still declare my child? I am afraid that the Visa itself may be rejected and i will have to start with a fresh application.

Also, my child does not have a passport yet.

You can still declare your child, email them and ask for next steps. As scylla said, DO NOT land with your current visa. I repeat, DO NOT LAND using that visa. It is not worth it. Delays are better than not being able to take your chid with you to Canada. If the child doesn't have a passport then apply for one asap.

Thanks a lot for your advice. I have already applied for the passport. Once the passport arrives, i will add my child as dependent. I hope they do not completely decline/disapprove my application/invite.... Since a final decision has been made on the application.

The below page says: "You can’t add a child to your application if we finished processing your application and you have already become a permanent resident." .... I'm not sure if i have become a permanent resident yet..... PLEASE ADVISE.. :(

You are not done with PR processing. PR processing is only completed after you land at any Port of Entry. You are not considered PR status yet. You must include your child since they were born before you land as PR otherwise you will not be able to sponsor them forever.

Thanks. I'm just afraid that they cancel/deny my PR due to this. Is this a possibility at this point?

Why would IRCC deny your PR? Including your child has no affect to your PR. Not declaring your child is very bad to IRCC point of view. IRCC can even revoked your PR for misrepresentation for not declaring your child. Or even worse, you will not be able to sponsor your child to Canada forever.

Just to update everyone on this, I had sent a query and received a response from them. They have asked for my daughter's documents within 30 days. So, all should be fine. :)

That's great, although no one is surprised because that's what everyone has been telling you all along.
