Hello guys
Well I've been through some sources and I'm facing a gard time getting some information. So I decided to ask here because someone may have experience and might help me. I'll apply for canadian immigration as FSW in hairdressing trade. I do hold a diploma which is recognised in some of canadian provinces but I can't secure a reference letter. Do you think CIC will approve me (because I have formal traing proof) without a reference letter? Is reference leter a must for immigration??

1. You can't apply as a Hairdresser as a Foreign Skilled Worker as it is not on the list. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/apply-who-instructions.asp#jobs
2. The only way Federally that you could apply is if you received an approved LMO from employer that will employ you permanently once you are a PR.

Hello there.

So please let me know what is best way for me to apply as hairdresser(I think skilled trades are also eligible for canadian immigration).
and another question plz, if I have a job offer and positive LMO, than is reference letter a MUST for immigration???
PLEASE respond to those question as they are so important to me.
thanks a lot

You can look into the skilled trades program at http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/trades/apply-who.asp

You need a full time job offer and an LMO. You need to prove that you are a trained hair dresser and have at least 2 years full time work experience (or part time equivalent) in the past 5 years.

Yeah sure I'm traind hairdresser as I have a diploma(license) of my country which is recognised in some canadian provinces. But my question was: is reference leter(employment history) a must for immigration? Is that document required? Would I succeed without it?????

You need a cv for an lmo and if I remember correctly, I provided previous employment reference letters to prove my experience.
However, the most important thing is that you need to find a written job offer with a company willing to go through the lmo process - unfortunately this is v challenging - lmo approvals are on the decline as the govt wants to ensure Canadians are kept in employment - the company has to show there aren't any Canadians willing or able to do the job
