hi we'll be migrating to toronto this coming march 2011..just wanna know if all housing (apartments, condos, homes) is equipped with heater??? we're from the philippines..thanks..help pls

it just depends on what types of heater you are looking for. some homes are equipped with electric/gas, some equipped with floor heater and some with both

tnx steaky... very well said..
any heater can do. the thing is the room will be heated hehehe..thanks a lot

check the link below, it contains info on housing/renting

http://www.schl.ca/newcomers/english/renting.html

http://www.cmhc-schl.gc.ca/odpub/pdf/66164.pdf

landlords have the obligation to rent out houses or apartments that are livable...with heating, free of repairs, etc.

tnx a lot...

Welcome to Toronto

There are sites that provide an accurate summary of weather patterns.

Toronto is near a large body of water that helps to warm and cool the city. We also tend to get slightly less snow than the surrounding 905 areas.

Welcome

If I can help direct you to resources please reach out.

hi davepylyp..
we decided to land in toronto sometime in march 2011, barely 3 months from now. can u giv advise on where is the best place to live in toronto? (nice neighbor, near to public transport, groceries, stores etc.)
thanks

BUT... be careful with what heating you choose. Although most of the times heating is included in the rent, take into account that old, electric heaters can suck the money out of your pockets in opposite to gas heating.

Just my 2 cents... and good luck!

tnx thezieglers noted

so its better to have gas heater?

usually you have to think about that when you already own a house.

for most apartments, heating is included in the rent.

for houses, maybe not so but you really just get what type of heater is already there in the house. i don't think landlords of houses will modify the type of heater in the house to suit your choice.

you can always shortlist what features you like (such as gas heater) when deciding where to rent. there are many choices in toronto.

Remember that not all locations in Canada have natural gas supplied to the property.

so much better to hear that heater is included in the rent means gas or electric or any heater can do... the thing is the room is heated Cheers! and thanks

There are also properties heated by ducted hot air, fed from a shared heated water system.
