Hello Ladies...just wanted to send you all a "have a great weekend message"
Try to put Havana outta your mind for the weekend and we will go back to sending positive vibes first thing monday mornung and hope for continued news!!

~Sassy~
Thankyou sassylassie :D :-* Right back at you girl ;D Yes, hopefully there will be continued good news from Havana this week. Happy Sunday to you and all :D

Hi again,

I noticed on the spreadsheet that everyone knows when their file arrived in Havana. I know mine was mailed, but how do I check to see if it arrived there? I was just at the embassy in Havana last week for our daughters citizenship papers and now I regret not asking them about the sponsorship application. I wanted to ask, but I didn't want to seem pushy. I never know what my rights and privileges are in Cuba so accept every step, no matter how small, as a success.

Just one month to Christmas; one good word, or one step forward, will make it a Christmas to remember.

Hi Sosaga,

Unfortunately, Havana isnt very good at communicating as to when your file arrives there. It seems they don't even touch files after about 2 months that they have received them. The only way to know when your file has arrived is when you received an AOR (a document received by mail stating Havana has your form as of such and such a date). Problem with this is that it usually arrives AFTER Havana has communicated with your spouse about Interview/ PPR (passport request for the visa). The other way is by ordering GCMS notes. I believe it stands for Global Communication System Management notes. These notes cost only 5$ and are provided by the Canadian government in an effort to show transparency in their processing of applications. They take about 30 days to receive, but only have information up to and including request date. For example, I ordered mine Nov 1st, received them Nov 15th, which was quick but I suspect it's because nothing was on them other than when my file was received in Havana, and the addition of my Quebec provincial papers. This means my file has not yet been looked at. My husband got a call from Havana Nov 21 requesting an interview, so I immediately ordered them again. This time around, they'll show us what concerns the Visa Officer may have about our case and why an interview was requested. For us, it worked out since our Interview was scheduled one month and 4 days after they called and requested it, so we'll have time to receive the notes. Others though, have had their interview scheduled 3 weeks after the call not leaving them enough time for the processing of the notes.

Hope that helps! :)

What about ownership of property rights and future purchasing of a house or build one? The ease of Cubans going in and out of Cuba in the future without hassles? The PRE protects the Cubans with all of this presently. :( ??? I just found out that...... the Cuban needs to have 2 ID cards. One for them to use for the future and the other goes with the PRE APP not sure about the PVE App? They also will only give one extra ID card and not again after this? This way the Cuban can return to Cuba to visit for vaca /family and still be able to have this card to use when needed while in Cuba, like for transit, medical, dental and whatever else they use it for at present. Maybe that will change with the PRE going? Has anybody else heard of this? ???

Hey Double Rainbow....my husband came here on the PRE.....he does not have a cuban identity card anymore...they took that from him when he got his PRE....all he has is a page in his passport similar to the visa Canda inserts but it is from the Cuban Government and allows him to travel back and forth to Cuba and maintain his property and bank accounts there....when we go on holidays he has to carry his permanent resident card so if we go some place where there is tourist line ups and cuban line ups he can be in the tourist line up because he no longer has an identity card.....I have never heard of two cards in Cuba....ever....

Hey Shuster2210....what a mess this is turning out......so they want you to pay $550 for the PVE and they are saying that you have the same rights as the PRE but you are not getting the PRE.....jeepers....I don't blame you for being up in arms.....have you contacted the consulate here in Canada to see what they say????

I emailed the consulate so lets see if they answer. At this point, I just want him here and will deal with everything else after the 14th of January.
He spoke with 5 diff people 3 diff days and they all explained the same, just literally just throw are hands up, get screwed by the Cuban Gov like always, but just get him here lol
Lets see what happens when he goes to pick it up on Tuesday.

Grrrrrrr. This has been making me sick to my stomach, it's so hard to be dealing with the current rules, but with nobody knowing what will truly happen in January.

I agree....get him here and deal with it once you guys are together.....much easier to deal with things together and not via email and long distance! Praying for you for tomorrow that he gets that and you can book for December 3rd!!!!!

Good Morning Havana Forum.
What a busy weekend you all had : )

Shuster…I am getting so frustrated for you. The information you seem to be receiving is conflicting and confusing. At first I was thinking…no do not pay the $550 for the PVE because who knows what charges you will face here. But the more I see the advice of the others just to get him here the more I agree. I am so sorry for everything you are facing.

Avana….what was the end result on your flight. Did you decide to just book and risk the chance of possible money loss? What a hard decision. I would want to get my hubby outta there asap too if possible.

Sosaga…WELCOME!!! I am the one who updates the spreadsheet. Do you mind if we add your timeline? If so can you go across the spreadsheet and see what dates you can give me to fill in for you (Day you sent your app, date (if you received one) that you received an AOR from Mississauga, etc.

Here are a few abbreviations: AOR: Acknowledgement of Receipt, PVE (ExteriorPermiso de Visitar al Exterior ; Permission to Visit the Exterior)PRE (Permiso de Residencia al Exterior; Permission to Reside in the Exterior. What other ones have you seen on here? Just let us know and we can explain to you : )

Did you figure out how to check the status of your App on the CIC website? If not let us know and we can explain.

Lastly…as Avana said….Havana is not so forthcoming with info. And it is prolly best your instincts told you not to ask about your file while at the Embassy : ) We have heard some stories about interrupting their process before due time and it delaying the file. : )

How is everyone else doing??? DBLrainbow and DDG we are getting closer each day to your phone calls! So exciting. Still no news from LuvCuba?! Would love to hear an update there. Actually ppSandy you are very close behind them too! Ohhhh it is going to be a busy new year I can feel it. And a positive one too! : )
Have a great day ladies and gentleman

Hi everyone; still nothing from Havana. >:( This waiting is driving me crazy.

His medical had expired this month and they didn't ask for a new medical. Noticed last week "Medical results received" was posted. How I understand Bulletin 423; they can only ask for reassessment of medical if nothing else is pending. So hopefully something soon..............
I leave in 12 days; can't wait.......it would be nice to hear something before I go.

Once I hear I will let you know.

Hi KJG Yes, they will take your husbands ID card to apply it to the PRE but he can order only 1 extra card before or after this happens not sure which? I was PM'd on another site from someone that went through this in the summer. His wife arrived here in July from Las Tunas area. She got another Id card as the original went towards her PRE. When she got the secondary ID card they told her that she will not be able to get another now only a one time thing. She was told that she keeps her rights as a Cuba citizen whilst in Cuba for medical, dental, transit and for whatever else. I was advised to get hubby to get another ID card as his original will go in to the PRE. Now who knows if needed since the PRE is going? I have no idea. All so confusing for sure. ???

Hi sassylassie :D I am doing great thankyou and I hope you are doing
the same. Yes, very exciting in getting close for hubby to be called. ;D Hubby is getting excited too. I woke up with a migraine this morning and could not go to work today. I was feeling pretty rough but feeling a little better now. It helped alot when hubby called me about a half hour ago. :D. I hope you and everyone had a great day today. :D

It's really all incredibly confusing and frustrating because of the new changes.
Lets just get them here, and deal with it after the 14th of January.

Could we be getting ripped off, probably yes.
But shoot, Id still pay a million dollars to have him here with me!!!!
