Can H4 travel to US for a week or two if H1 is commuting everyday and staying in Canada.
H4 will travel with H1 for a week or two.

You should be applying for a normal tourist visa. You aren’t accompanying your spouse to live and work in the US.

You may get an exception the way I was given, but was strictly told to use H4 only 4 moving permanently.

Really luck of the draw. @su0du0tict needs to be prepared for their spouse to be refused entry or given the exception. 50/50 probably.

Thank you, I will try to get a B1/B2 for her. A follow up question, if she gets a B1/B2 visa , will they cancel the existing H4 or both can coexist.
Just at the border, the border agent will enable the B2 status.

Thats right. she can have both H4 and B1/B2 and they would allow next time on B1/B2. Unless you move back to US before H4 expires its of no use having H4 though. Its easier to travel on B1/B2 till you plan to move back!
