In that case I would recommend that you return home and apply for the Canadian work permit from there. Canada generally doesn't approve temporary visas when someone no longer holds a valid visa in the country where they are now.

to apply for canada on a work permit, you need to have a offer/employemnt letter from a company which is in canada

My company does have global presence and have Canada office as well so will get the letter. My real questions are:

• As I was also working in US for my company, can I show US salary slips as well as India salary slips for work permit application?
• How soon I can apply for Canada work permit in this case.

I am applying for the Intra company transfer as a software development manager. I am technical specialist and managing the team as well so looking for the work permit based on the technical/Project Manager route.
