Hi All ,

I am an IT Professional , having 8 Years of work experience as an DBA.

From what I have read so far :

- I feel Indian Education/Work Experience is not considered in Canada.
- We need very strong reference to get a job interview. I have no friends/relatives in Canada.

This being said , What kind of Ground Work can we do before we land?

Study Again :

- Is taking a master's / PG Certificate as soon as we land helpful ?
- Are we allowed to pay Canadian tuition fees (Which is much less than International Students) in universities ?
- What kind of courses should we take ? The ones which are related to our work experience or the ones which are in demand ?

Finding a contract job :

- How we find consultants for getting into a contract jobs ?

Finding References :
- Some people like me , have no references/friends/relatives in Canada. How do we start building our network for jobs ?

Hi

From what I hv heard to start building a network, it's better to enroll yourself as a volunteer in a something that is either a hobby, or something related to your job. It will give you an opportunity to meet ppl, discuss and also getting connected.
